Widows Home Varanasi

Hope Arts Vararansi gives widows in Varanasi a option to start a productive new life via this income Generation project.

They learn how to create all kind of gift items like making handmade card , necklaces etc.

These articles will be sold in a shop, which has been built on the same property and in other venues.

These gift products are presented and sold via the Gift shop and soon also via the online webshop.

As our location is surrounded by many villages, part of the widows whom we train, will work from their own houses and bring their produce to the centre once a week.

The small “Hope Arts” shop, which we hope to also make into a coffee shop very soon, to sell the bakery items the employable widows are making.

The Dutch Bakery is another income-generating project to help support the widows in Varanasi.

To target the market for special bakery products, we have invested in partnership with others in quality baking equipment and on-the-job training.

The women here have not only learned to use the kitchen equipment, but are baking some of the most delicious muffins, fresh bread and cakes in town.

After this training the widows can start making new products for the local Sarnath market.

To help a widow start her own business, a starter fund of $350 (USD) is needed.
To offer a room in our widows' home, $50 (USD) per month is needed to provide shelter, food, and medical care.
